Ruchama is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) in the process of registering as a Public Benefit Organization (PBO) status, enabling us to issue a Section 18A tax certificate to qualifying donors. This means that individuals, companies, trusts, and other entities who contribute financially, or in kind, to our work may claim a tax deduction in accordance with South African tax legislation.

Our History
Pieter and Chanette Kroon, founders of Ruchama, began their journey of service in 2019 with a simple but powerful desire — to bring hope to families facing hardship.
What started as personal outreach to less fortunate and destitute households in their community soon grew into a structured and sustained effort to provide food, essential supplies, emotional support, and practical assistance.
Guided by their core values of compassion, mercy, and love, they have dedicated themselves to restoring dignity and uplifting vulnerable individuals and families.
Through faith, perseverance, and community partnerships, their vision has evolved into Ruchama — a platform committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of those in need.

What 2025 brought us
2025 was a year of turmoil, uncertainty, and significant change — a season that could easily have caused this ministry to falter.
Yet, through unwavering faith, perseverance, and a deep commitment to our calling, we stood firm. Instead of retreating in the face of challenges, we strengthened our resolve, dug in our heels, and pressed forward with even greater determination.
What could have been a year of decline became a year of growth.
We witnessed more families reached and restored than ever before, expanded our outreach initiatives, and laid foundations for meaningful community development.
Through every obstacle, compassion, mercy, and love remained our anchor — and as a result, the impact of Ruchama grew far beyond what we imagined possible.
